Каблук - деталь взуття у вигляді вертикальної підставки, що підводить п'яту вище рівня носка Каблук на взутті з'явився в пізньому середньовіччі. Слово «каблук» ймовірно запозичене з тюркської kabluk, яке походить від араб.Kab-«п'ята, п'ята». Вважається, що каблук вперше з'явився на чоботях для верхової їзди, щоб нога не провалювалася в стремено. Високі підбори подовжують ноги, збільшують зріст, роблять жіночу фігуру стрункішою і сексуальніше, зорово зменшують розмір стопи. Важливо, щоб жінка вміла ходити на підборах, володіла граціозною ходою.
